At SA Techfloor we recognise the need for more sustainable building practices to help reduce the impact our projects are having on the environment. As part of our commitment to sustainability we aim to reduce our impact through waste management and recycling as well as using and supplying renewable and sustainable products such as polished concrete, bamboo flooring and easily recycled carpet tiles. We also aim to refine the way we do business to reduce our carbon emissions and energy consumption which include reducing the distance your materials travel by having materials delivered direct from the transport depot or manufacturer to your door, collecting and using rain water from our warehouse roof for use in cleaning and maintaining our tools and machinery, separating and recycling all possible waste including concrete and fitting out our warehouse and showroom using recycled materials salvaged from building sites.
Polished concrete is known for its durable attractive finish but it is also an eco-friendly flooring option. When used in conjunction with passive design principles it can act as a thermal mass passive heating and cooling system. It works by storing heat and cool during the day and releasing this stored energy at night to regulate building temperature.
